It was the summer of 2014 when I first became acquainted with The Baja California Peninsula. On July 4th, on the British Columbia / Washington--Canada / United States border, I began a bicycling adventure that brought me to this land. This was not my intended destination nor did I imagine then that I'd return to nurture a relationship with what nature provides here...in a very give and take relationship.
When embarking on the biking tour that brought me here, I'd set out for an attitude adjustment; seeking internal silence from the quietude of the road, and the isolation of one desert after another. Riding in, absorbing, the harsh beauty while gaining holistic strength from weaknesses made strong.  The ride was a vehicle of inner discovery. The road was my teacher and I was something of a cycologist in training.
I've been fortunate enough to have completed four significant bicycle tours other than this one, one of which was a cross country / coast to coast tour from The Pacific Ocean to The Atlantic Ocean in The United States. I am a believer in the power of outdoor activities, vehicles for production of inward revelations and promotion of overall health and healing.

Some of my training qualifications that strengthen me as a professional guide, are: wilderness remote 1st aid, CPR, lifeguard, technical rope rescue, advanced scuba recovery training, certified diver, map reading and navigation, adventure based facilitation, adventure based therapy, outdoor recreational programming, environmental health, nutrition, photography, journalism, outdoor survival, environmental physiology, adventure programming leadership; and, after too much time as a physics major at the university level...I studied outdoor adventure leadership to produce a career more favorable to who I am.
An outdoor enthusiast, hiker, camper, fisherman and downright explorer; I also understand and appreciate the value of being balanced: psychologically, physically, and spiritually, essentially. Practicing arts, like Ta Chi / qi qong, yoga, meditation, eating (culinary trained) and drinking well (with a small kombucha brewing company), these, along with a childlike belief in the power of prayer improve the purpose and productivity at which I am a participant in life, and my overall quality of living.
The underlining goal of spirit of adventure tours is to promote holistic health and healing; providing adventure tourism, in settings where a person is able experience themselves...in unique ways outside of their customary environment.
It is a further hope that each client returns home from their vacation with us feeling revived, alive, and with a fresh outlook on their lives...and life in general.
Salud!
